Where Streetsville is
Streetsville is in the north-west corner of Mississauga on the Credit River. It takes in both banks, but the historic village is on the west bank (Wikipedia, not an official source). Two main roads still carry their village names as they pass through: Mississauga Road becomes Queen Street, and Bristol Road becomes Main Street.
Heritage Mississauga (not an official source) dates the settlement to 1819, when Richard Bristol surveyed the New Survey of Toronto Township with financing from Timothy Street, after whom the village is named. John Barnhart opened a trading post, the Montreal House, in 1821, and by 1835 the village had grist mills, sawmills, a tannery and several inns. Toronto Township’s first high school, the Grammar School, opened in 1851, and the Credit Valley Railway arrived in 1879.
Streetsville became a town in 1962. In 1974 it amalgamated with the Town of Mississauga and Port Credit to form the City of Mississauga. The local business association, the Streetsville BIA, calls it “The Village in the City”.
Homes and recent sales
Detached houses lead sales here. In TRREB’s report for April to June 2026, 17 of Streetsville’s 29 sales were detached, 7 were condo townhouses, 3 were semis and 2 were condo apartments. New listings were split almost evenly between detached houses (59) and condo townhouses (57).
For detached houses, the average was about $1,453K and the median about $1,225K. With the average that far above the median, the median is the steadier guide to a typical detached sale this quarter.

Schools
School assignment goes by street address. Before you rely on any school below, check the exact address with the Peel District School Board’s School Finder and with the Peel Region “Which School do I Attend?” tool, which the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board links for families and which covers both boards.
Streetsville Secondary School (72 Joymar Drive) opened in 1958. Its board profile lists a regional French Immersion program, introduced in September 2005, and a regional program for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In the PDSB’s 2025–26 Directions guide, its family of schools includes Vista Heights Public School (89 Vista Boulevard, Kindergarten to Grade 5 plus French Immersion from Grade 1), Dolphin Senior Public School (18 Brookside Drive, Grades 6 to 8) and Hazel McCallion Senior Public School (5750 River Grove Avenue, Grades 6 to 8 plus French Immersion), among others.
The same guide lists St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School (249 Church Street, JK to Grade 8) alongside the Streetsville family. It is on the same street as Streetsville Memorial Park.
Parks, festivals and the main street
Streetsville Memorial Park (335 Church Street) hosts the Streetsville Founders’ Bread and Honey Festival, which began in 1973 and is run as a non-profit by community volunteers; its organizers describe the park as a natural amphitheatre of 30 acres overlooking the river and say the festival draws upwards of 50,000 people a year. The festival honours Timothy Street and the flour mill he built in 1821.
Streetsville Library (112 Queen Street South) has been open since 1895, and the City calls it the oldest public library in Mississauga. Streetsville Village Square, on the east side of the Main Street and Queen Street intersection, has a performance stage area and the cenotaph at its centre; the City scheduled its official opening for June 6, 2015.
Vic Johnston Arena, which opened in 1961, is an independent, non-profit arena used for hockey, skating and community events (Wikipedia).
Getting around
Streetsville GO Station (45 Thomas Street) is on GO’s Milton line and opened in 1981 (Wikipedia). GO lists free parking in a main lot of 1,540 spaces, plus reserved and carpool parking and bike racks.
MiWay Route 44 Mississauga Road runs through the village on Queen Street every day, between Meadowvale Town Centre and U of T Mississauga. On weekdays, Route 49A McDowell links Streetsville GO with Churchill Meadows Boulevard.
