Where Bronte Meadows is
Bronte Meadows is one of the communities TRREB uses to report Milton’s MLS® sales, but its quarterly report doesn’t list boundary streets, and the sources that do describe the neighbourhood draw it differently. Treat any boundary on this page as approximate.
The Town of Milton’s Mature Neighbourhoods Character Study (May 2021) gives its boundaries as Derry Road, Bell Street, Bronte Street and Commercial Street. The study’s map shades homes on both sides of Laurier Avenue, on streets such as Vanier Drive, Harvest Drive, Roseheath Drive and Sunnyvale Crescent. It places the Fallingbrook neighbourhood to the north, and notes that Milton District Hospital (725 Bronte St S) and the Milton Sports Centre are just on the other side of Derry Road.
A local real estate team’s neighbourhood guide (not an official source) draws it differently: between Laurier Avenue and Derry Road, from Bronte Street east to Ontario Street.
The Town’s study says the neighbourhood was registered during the 1970s and 1980s. Homes on its western side went up in the 1970s, and a large share of the neighbourhood was built between 1982 and 1985. The study also says the area is known for its hill at Sixteen Mile Creek, Bronte Meadows Park, the John Tonelli arena and Milton District High School.
Homes and recent sales
The Town’s 2021 study counted 332 properties zoned Residential Low Density and 280 zoned Residential Medium Density I. It describes the houses as predominantly single-detached, with 11% of units in the low-density part semi-detached, and found 82% of the low-density houses and 95% of the medium-density ones were two storeys. Average lot sizes were 536 square metres in the low-density part and 336 in the medium-density part. Brick and wood siding are the main materials, and the study found no listed or designated heritage properties.
Bronte Meadows was in phase three of that study. Official Plan Amendment 60, which Council enacted on October 19, 2020, applies to all three phases. In February 2022, Council enacted By-law 007-2022 with new zoning standards for the low-density areas of Dorset Park and Timberlea; the Town’s study page lists no matching by-law for Bronte Meadows. If you plan to add on or rebuild, ask the Town which standards apply before you firm up.
Resale volume is small. TRREB’s report for April to June 2026 counted 7 sales in Bronte Meadows: 6 detached houses and 1 that TRREB classes as Other, at a median of $987,500 across all 7. Of the quarter’s 14 new listings, 11 were detached. With that few sales, one or two unusual homes can move the averages, so treat them as a rough guide.

Schools
School assignment goes by street address, and both boards have redrawn boundaries in parts of Milton recently. Before you rely on any school below, check the exact address with the HDSB’s Find Local School tool and the HCDSB’s Find Your School tool.
Our Lady of Victory Catholic Elementary School (540 Commercial St), between Laurier Avenue and Derry Road, runs Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. It opened in the fall of 1984, giving students who had been attending Holy Rosary School a neighbourhood school of their own. It belongs to the Bishop P. F. Reding family of schools (Bishop P. F. Reding Catholic Secondary, 1120 Main St E).
Milton District High School (396 Williams Ave) is one of the landmarks the Town’s study names for the area, and the school’s own page traces its students back to 1960. On the HDSB side, J.M. Denyes Public School is at 215 Thomas St, to the north, and Escarpment View Public School (351 Scott Blvd), a Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 school that opened in September 2010, is across Bronte Street. Which HDSB school a particular address feeds into is a question for the board’s own tool.
Parks, recreation and shopping
Bronte Meadows Park (165 Laurier Ave) has basketball, tennis, soccer, baseball and a playground, plus a splash pad, a shelter and free parking. The Town’s listing for the park also includes an arena. The John Tonelli Sports Centre (217 Laurier Ave), which the Town’s study names as one of the area’s landmarks, has one ice rink, a concession stand, changing rooms, bleachers and a meeting room for up to 30 people.
Brian Best Park (320 Commercial St), in the Fallingbrook neighbourhood just north, has baseball, soccer, volleyball and a playground. Across Derry Road, the Milton Sports Centre (605 Santa Maria Blvd) has a lap pool and a play pool, four ice pads, a double gym and an elevated indoor walking and jogging track.
For everyday shopping, Shoppers Drug Mart’s Derry & Bronte store is at 6951 Derry Rd W, and there is a Food Basics at 500 Laurier Ave, just east of Ontario Street.
Getting around
Every Milton Transit route starts and ends at Milton GO Station (780 Main St E), which has free parking. Route 2 Main runs from the station along Main Street, then loops along Bronte Street South, Derry Road, Commercial Street and Heslop Road, with timed stops at Milton Hospital and at Commercial and Heslop. Route 9A Ontario South has timed stops at Ontario and Derry and at Ontario and Laurier.
By car, Ontario Street is part of Regional Road 25, which meets Highway 401 at Exit 320 to the north and Highway 407 at Exit 13 to the south (listed as Regional Road 25/Bronte Road, in Oakville). Drive times depend too much on the hour and the street to quote one honestly, so this page doesn’t.

How old are the homes in Bronte Meadows?
Most date from the 1980s. The Town’s 2021 study says the neighbourhood was registered during the 1970s and 1980s, and of the 612 residential properties it counted, 556 were built in the 1980s and 52 in the 1970s. It describes the houses as predominantly single-detached, and most are two storeys.
