Where Ford is
The Town’s Official Plan names Ford as one of the Boyne Survey neighbourhoods, alongside Walker, Cobban and Bowes. Its outline runs from Bronte Street on the west to Regional Road 25 on the east, and from Louis St. Laurent Avenue south to Britannia Road.
The Boyne Survey as a whole covers about 930 hectares between Louis St. Laurent Avenue, James Snow Parkway, Britannia Road and Tremaine Road, and was prepared to house about 50,000 residents once built. Council adopted the plan on June 14, 2010; Halton Region approved it on September 6, 2013, and the Ontario Municipal Board on January 7, 2015. Ford falls in Phase 3A, the west side, whose more detailed tertiary plan Council endorsed on August 24, 2015.
The survey takes its name from the old hamlet of Boyne, settled around 1819 at what is now Britannia Road and Regional Road 25, Ford’s south-east corner.
Homes: the plan and recent sales
The plan is organized around neighbourhood centres with parks and community facilities, plus smaller sub-neighbourhoods, each built around a small park the plan calls a Village Square.
Most of Ford is designated Residential Area. There, the plan permits detached and semi-detached houses, duplexes, townhouses, triplexes and quattroplexes at 31 to 45 units per net hectare; stacked townhouses and apartments at more than 45 and up to 100; and apartment buildings at more than 100 and up to 200. Across the whole Boyne Survey, the target mix is 48% low density, 35% medium and 17% high.
Ford also has a Neighbourhood Centre Area and an institutional block, Major Node Areas at its Regional Road 25 corners, a residential and office strip along Regional Road 25, and a gateway at Regional Road 25 and Britannia Road. The plan calls for a secondary mixed-use node at Bronte Street and Louis St. Laurent Avenue, Ford’s north-west corner, and its natural heritage corridors, with trails, run north to south through the neighbourhood.
Those are the plan’s permissions, not a count of what has been built. For what is actually trading, TRREB’s report for April to June 2026 counted 44 sales in Ford: 18 attached or row townhouses, 14 detached houses, 8 semis, 3 condo apartments and 1 condo townhouse. Townhouses and detached homes sell in very different price bands here, so compare like with like.

Schools
School assignment goes by street address, and both boards have redrawn boundaries in parts of Milton recently. Before you rely on any school below, check the exact address with the HDSB’s Find Local School tool and the HCDSB’s Find Your School tool.
Four schools sit inside Ford. Viola Desmond Public School (1450 Leger Way), named by HDSB trustees on March 21, 2018 ahead of its fall 2018 opening, teaches Kindergarten to Grade 8 in English with a special education program. Under the boundary plan approved in January 2025, its French Immersion program is being phased over to Anne J. MacArthur Public School. Boyne Public School (1110 Farmstead Dr), just south of Louis St. Laurent, is a K–8 English school with a special education program. St. Scholastica Catholic Elementary School (170 Whitlock Ave) is in the St. Francis Xavier family of schools, and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Secondary School (1145 Bronte St S) is on Ford’s Bronte Street edge.
Elsie MacGill Secondary School is across Bronte at 1410 Bronte St S. In the HDSB’s 2024 boundary-review profiles (before the 2025 boundary decision), Elsie MacGill was the secondary school for the English programs at Boyne and Viola Desmond, Craig Kielburger Secondary for Viola Desmond’s French Immersion students, and Boyne’s French Immersion students were directed to Anne J. MacArthur Public School.
Both boards are mid-change here. HDSB trustees approved new South Milton boundaries in January 2025, phased in over three-plus years as Milton SE #13 Public School opens. The HCDSB approved new boundaries for its new Milton #11 Catholic Elementary School on June 24, 2025, affecting the St. Scholastica catchment among others. The board has since moved that school’s opening to September 2028, when those changes take effect.
Parks and shopping
Ford Neighbourhood Park (1400 Leger Way) has a playground, cricket, basketball, a splash pad, a shelter and free parking, and the Town lists a ball diamond at the same address. OpenStreetMap shows two smaller parks inside Ford as well: Raspberry Park (1280 Raspberry Terrace) and Benjamin Chee Chee Park (1350 Chee Chee Landing).
Just north of Louis St. Laurent, Milton Community Park (805 Santa Maria Blvd) has soccer and ball fields, a playground, basketball, a splash pad and walking trails, and the Milton Sports Centre (605 Santa Maria Blvd) has arenas, pools and fitness space.
For groceries, the plaza on Bronte Street South just north of Louis St. Laurent, across from Ford’s north-west corner, has a Sobeys (1035), an LCBO (1025) and Marketplace Medical Centre & Pharmacy (1015).
Getting around
Regional Road 25 runs along Ford’s east edge. Halton Region calls it a key north–south link between Oakville and Milton, with access to the QEW, Highway 407 and both the Bronte and Milton GO stations; its 407 interchange is on the stretch south of Britannia Road. The Ministry of Transportation finished improvements at its Highway 401 interchange in 2019, including a new structure over the highway.
Milton GO Station is at 780 Main St E, on GO’s Milton line. Every Milton Transit fixed route starts and ends there, and Milton Transit OnDemand runs a Boyne Zone for shared rides booked by app, web or phone, with Milton GO among its transfer points.
