Walker, Milton: Neighbourhood Guide
The Boyne Survey neighbourhood in south-west Milton, between Tremaine Road and Bronte Street, planned in the 2010s and still filling in. Here is what the Town’s plan allows, what has been selling, which schools are open, and how people get around.

Where Walker is
Walker is one of the communities TRREB uses to report Milton’s MLS® sales, but its quarterly report doesn’t list boundary streets. The Town’s Official Plan maps Walker as one of the Boyne Survey neighbourhoods, alongside Ford, Cobban and Bowes, and labels it in two parts, Walker West and Walker East. Its outline runs from Tremaine Road on the west to Bronte Street on the east, between Louis St. Laurent Avenue and Britannia Road; south of Britannia, Bronte Street carries on as First Line. A local real estate team’s neighbourhood guide (not an official source) uses the same four roads. Treat the edges as approximate and check the MLS® community on any listing.
It is part of the Boyne Survey: about 930 hectares between Louis St. Laurent Avenue, James Snow Parkway, Britannia Road and Tremaine Road, prepared to house 50,000 residents when fully implemented. Council adopted the plan on June 14, 2010; Halton Region approved it on September 6, 2013, and the Ontario Municipal Board on January 7, 2015. Walker is in Phase 3A, the west side, whose tertiary plan Council endorsed on August 24, 2015.
Across Britannia Road, on land south of Britannia between Tremaine Road and First Line, CN is building its Milton Logistics Hub, a truck-rail hub where containers are to be transferred between trucks and railcars. The federal government approved the project on January 21, 2021. Halton Region, which challenged it in court with the local municipalities, reported in July 2025 that those court matters are at an end, and the Region’s project page says construction is underway. If you are looking at homes near Britannia Road, read that page first.
Homes: the plan and recent sales
Most of Walker is designated Residential Area under the Boyne Survey Secondary Plan. There, the plan permits detached and semi-detached houses, duplexes, townhouses, triplexes and quattroplexes at 31 to 45 units per net hectare; stacked townhouses and apartments at more than 45 and up to 100; and apartment buildings at more than 100 and up to 200. Across the whole Boyne Survey, the target mix is 48% low density, 35% medium and 17% high.
The corners are planned for more. The plan calls for a secondary mixed-use node, with community facilities and significant commercial uses, at Bronte Street and Louis St. Laurent Avenue, Walker’s north-east corner. Its land-use map shows Major Node Areas, where buildings of 3 to 15 storeys are allowed, at Tremaine Road and Louis St. Laurent and at Britannia Road and Bronte Street, and a smaller Minor Sub-Node Area at Tremaine Road and Britannia Road, which the plan marks as a gateway to Milton’s urban area. Along Britannia Road east of the rail line, a Residential/Office Area allows offices and apartments up to 15 storeys, with the tallest buildings to be oriented to Bronte Street.
The CN rail line runs through Walker from Louis St. Laurent Avenue to Britannia Road. The plan calls for noise, vibration and safety mitigation for development next to the rail right-of-way, and for a grade-separated active transportation link across the tracks for people on foot or bike. It also asks that development keep views to the Niagara Escarpment.
Those are the plan’s permissions, not a count of what has been built. On OpenStreetMap, most of Walker’s named streets so far, among them Kovachik Boulevard, Gordon Krantz Avenue, Savoline Boulevard and Boyd Lane, are west of the rail line. It still maps six areas inside Walker as construction sites, five of them west of the tracks and one east. Resale volume is small: TRREB’s report for April to June 2026 counted 13 sales in Walker, at a median of $1,078,000 across all 13. With that few sales, one or two unusual homes can move the averages, so treat them as a rough guide.

Schools
School assignment goes by street address, and both boards have redrawn boundaries in parts of Milton recently. Before you rely on any school below, check the exact address with the HDSB’s Find Local School tool and the HCDSB’s Find Your School tool.
Rattlesnake Point Public School (1385 Kovachik Blvd), west of the rail line, was named by HDSB trustees on March 23, 2022 ahead of its September 2022 opening; the board’s release ties the name to Rattlesnake Point, a Conservation Halton park on the Niagara Escarpment. Under the boundary plan HDSB trustees approved on January 7, 2025 (Option 6a), it offers Kindergarten to Grade 8 in English with special education programs, and its French Immersion students attend P.L. Robertson Public School (840 Scott Blvd), north of Louis St. Laurent. On the plan’s English boundary map for the 2025–26 and 2026–27 school years, which the board says leaves out legacy exemptions, most of Walker west of the tracks goes to Rattlesnake Point. The rest of Walker is split between Anne J. MacArthur Public School (820 Farmstead Dr) and Boyne Public School (1110 Farmstead Dr).
Elsie MacGill Secondary School (1410 Bronte St S) is on the Walker side of Bronte Street. Students moved into the building in February 2022, according to local news coverage. The school’s page names Rattlesnake Point among the six public schools in its family of schools, and lists the HDSB’s regional I-STEM program, Advanced Placement courses and Specialist High Skills Majors. Which secondary school a particular address feeds into is a question for the board’s own tool.
On the Catholic side, St. Josephine Bakhita Catholic Elementary School (390 Gordon Krantz Ave) is inside Walker, west of the rail line; local news coverage in September 2024 reported it opening that month. The HCDSB’s 2026–27 boundary map for it covers all of Walker, from Tremaine Road to Bronte Street South between Louis St. Laurent Avenue and Britannia Road. It belongs to the St. Francis Xavier family of schools, and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Secondary School (1145 Bronte St S), across Bronte Street at Walker’s north-east corner, has a 2026–27 boundary that takes in this area. On the board’s 2026–27 French Immersion map, students here entering Grade 1 French Immersion are mapped to St. Scholastica Catholic Elementary School (170 Whitlock Ave), in Ford.
Parks, recreation and shopping
Walker Park (1325 Kovachik Blvd), on the same street as Rattlesnake Point Public School, has a playground, soccer, basketball, a splash pad, a shelter, lighting and free parking, and the Town rents out two sports fields there.
The plan’s community structure map puts one of the Boyne Survey’s two District Park Areas in Walker, between the CN rail line and Bronte Street, and a Neighbourhood Centre with neighbourhood parks and school sites in Walker West. The plan says district parks may be developed with indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Those are plan designations, not a list of what is open, so check with the Town before you count on one.
Just across Tremaine Road, near Louis St. Laurent, the Mattamy National Cycling Centre (2015 Pan Am Blvd) is owned and operated by the Town and was built for the 2015 Pan American/Parapan American Games. Besides its velodrome, the Town lists gymnasiums, a weight room, a fitness studio and an indoor walking track there.
For groceries, the plaza on Bronte Street South just north of Louis St. Laurent, across the intersection from Walker’s north-east corner, has a Sobeys (1035), an LCBO (1025) and Marketplace Medical Centre & Pharmacy (1015), going by OpenStreetMap.
Getting around
Milton Transit OnDemand’s Boyne Zone covers Walker: the Town’s zone map shades the area from Tremaine Road to Bronte Street South, between Louis St. Laurent Avenue and Britannia Road. It is a shared-ride service booked by app, web or phone, with transfer points that include Milton District Hospital and Milton GO.
Fixed routes run along two of Walker’s edges. Route 3 Trudeau runs along Louis St. Laurent Avenue to the Mattamy National Cycling Centre, with timed stops at Bronte Street and at the cycling centre, and Route 8 Willmott has a timed stop at Louis St. Laurent and Bronte. Route 9A Ontario South uses a short stretch of Bronte Street South, between Whitlock Avenue and Etheridge Avenue, with a timed stop at Elsie MacGill Secondary School. All Milton Transit routes start and end at Milton GO Station (780 Main St E), the western terminus of GO’s Milton line, which has free parking.
By car, Tremaine Road is Regional Road 22 and Britannia Road is Regional Road 6. Regional Road 25, on the far side of Ford, meets Highway 401 at Exit 320 and Highway 407 at Exit 13 (listed as Regional Road 25/Bronte Road, in Oakville). Halton Region’s Tremaine Road improvements between Steeles Avenue and Campbellville Road include a future Highway 401 interchange at Tremaine Road; check the Region’s site for when it opens.
