Milton neighbourhood guide
Harrison, Milton: Neighbourhood Guide
The Town’s Sherwood Survey plan names Harrison as one of its neighbourhoods: the block between Tremaine Road and the CN rail line, from Derry Road south to Louis St. Laurent Avenue. Here is what the plan set out, what has been selling, which schools and parks are inside it, and how to get to Milton GO.

Where Harrison is
Harrison is one of the communities TRREB uses to report Milton’s MLS® sales, though its quarterly report doesn’t list boundary streets. The name is also the Town’s own. The Sherwood Survey Secondary Plan’s community structure map (Schedule C-8-A) labels four neighbourhoods, Scott, Willmott, Harrison and Milton Heights, and outlines Harrison between Tremaine Road on the west, Derry Road on the north, the CN rail line on the east and Louis St. Laurent Avenue on the south. A local real estate team’s neighbourhood guide (not an official source) uses the same four edges. Because TRREB doesn’t publish boundary streets, treat the edges as approximate and check the MLS® community on any listing.
The Town adopted the Sherwood Survey plan in 2005. Its plan area runs from Highway 401 south to Louis St. Laurent Avenue, with Tremaine Road (Regional Road 22) as its western edge. On the plan’s phasing map, the part of Harrison between Derry Road and a gas line corridor is in Phase 2A, and the part south of that corridor is in Phase 2B. The Halton District School Board’s 2022 accommodation plan says the Sherwood plan area began development in the mid-2000s, and a May 2019 Town planning paper described the Sherwood Survey as largely built out and home to its planned population of about 40,000 people.
The HDSB uses the name too: its 2022 plan lists Harrison with Milton Heights, Scott and Willmott in its Sherwood review area. The Catholic board’s 2026–27 boundary map for Lumen Christi Catholic Elementary School doesn’t use the name, but it follows the same four edges: Derry Road, the rail line, Louis St. Laurent Avenue and Tremaine Road.
Homes: the plan and recent sales
The Sherwood Survey plan sets an average residential density for each neighbourhood. For Harrison it is 35 units per net hectare. Across the whole survey, the plan applies the Official Plan’s housing mix targets for the urban area: 60% single detached and semi-detached, 15% row housing and 25% apartments or similar forms.
On the plan’s land-use map, most of Harrison is Residential Area. A Neighbourhood Centre Area in the middle, on both sides of the gas line corridor, shows two school sites and a neighbourhood park, and the map marks three Village Squares, the plan’s name for small, mostly passive parks that act as focal points for sub-neighbourhoods. The corners at Tremaine Road and Derry Road and at Tremaine Road and Louis St. Laurent are designated Residential/Office Area, and the plan treats Tremaine and Louis St. Laurent as a gateway location. The map also shows a noise, vibration and visual buffer along the CN line.
The plan calls for a tree-lined buffer along the east side of Tremaine Road south of Main Street, sidewalks on all roads, and bike lanes or paths on collector and arterial roads. Those are the plan’s permissions and goals, not a count of what was built.
For what is actually trading, TRREB’s report for April to June 2026 counted 38 sales in Harrison, worth $35,667,750 in total. The average price was $938,625 and the median $853,750. Those figures mix every home type, so compare a Harrison home with others of the same type, not with the neighbourhood average.
The Town’s Municipal Heritage Register, updated July 2026, lists one property on Dymott Avenue, which runs through Harrison. Listed properties are not designated, but Council considers them to have cultural heritage value or interest. If a house you are looking at is on the register, ask the Town what that means for any work you have in mind.

Schools
School assignment goes by street address, and both boards have redrawn boundaries in parts of Milton recently. Before you rely on any school below, check the exact address with the HDSB’s Find Local School tool and the HCDSB’s Find Your School tool.
P.L. Robertson Public School (840 Scott Blvd) is inside Harrison. The HDSB’s 2022 accommodation plan says it was built in 2009 and that in 2022 its boundary was expanded to include the complete Harrison community. Under the South Milton boundary plan HDSB trustees approved on January 7, 2025 (Option 6a), it offers an English program from Kindergarten to Grade 8 and a French Immersion program. The plan left its English catchment unchanged and expanded its French Immersion catchment to include Rattlesnake Point Public School.
The board’s page for P.L. Robertson lists Elsie MacGill Secondary School (1410 Bronte St S) as its family of schools. In the HDSB’s 2024 boundary-review profiles, before the 2025 decision, Elsie MacGill was the secondary school for its English program and Craig Kielburger Secondary School (1151 Ferguson Dr) for French Immersion. Which secondary school a particular address feeds into is a question for the board’s own tool.
On the Catholic side, Lumen Christi Catholic Elementary School (841 Savoline Blvd) opened in September 2011 and runs from Kindergarten to Grade 8. Its 2026–27 boundary covers the whole block between Derry Road, the rail line, Louis St. Laurent Avenue and Tremaine Road. It belongs to the St. Francis Xavier family of schools; St. Francis Xavier Catholic Secondary School is at 1145 Bronte St S, just south of Louis St. Laurent, and its 2026–27 boundary takes in this area.
For French programs, the HCDSB’s 2026–27 maps send students entering Grade 1 French Immersion here to St. Benedict Catholic Elementary School (80 McLaughlin Ave), east of the rail line, and show Lumen Christi itself as the Extended French school for a wider area, with St. Benedict and Queen of Heaven among its feeder schools. French-language schools are run by two other boards: Conseil scolaire Viamonde (public), whose school finder searches by postal code, and Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir (Catholic), which lists two Milton elementary schools, Saint-Nicolas and Sainte-Anne, and searches by civic address.
Parks, recreation and shopping
Optimist Park (881 Savoline Blvd) has soccer, cricket, tennis, basketball and a playground, with a splash pad, a shelter, bleachers, lighting, a drinking fountain and free parking. The Town lists three tennis courts there, and both the cricket pitch, which lists washrooms, and a cricket batting cage can be rented through the Town.
Three smaller parks each have a playground, a shelter and accessible play equipment: McDougall Park (363 McDougall Crossing), Gastle Park (273 Schreyer Crescent) and Speyer Park (687 Marks St).
East across the rail line, in Willmott, the Milton Sports Centre (605 Santa Maria Blvd) has a lap pool and a play pool, four ice pads, a double gym, an elevated indoor walking and jogging track and a fitness studio, and Milton Community Park (805 Santa Maria Blvd) has soccer and ball fields, basketball, a playground, a splash pad and walking trails. West of Tremaine Road, the Town-owned Mattamy National Cycling Centre (2015 Pan Am Blvd) was built for the 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games; its indoor 250 m track is made of Siberian spruce.
North of Derry Road, Milton Public Library’s Sherwood branch, which opened in September 2019, is inside the Sherwood Community Centre (6355 Main St W), along with a twin-pad arena and an aquatic centre with a 25 m pool and a leisure/therapeutic pool.
For groceries, OpenStreetMap shows a No Frills at 6520 Derry Rd, in Derrybrook Plaza near Scott Boulevard, with a Scotiabank branch in the same plaza. Milton Fire and Rescue Services’ headquarters, Station 3, is at 610 Savoline Blvd, near Derry Road.
Getting around
Milton Transit Route 7, named Harrison, runs from Milton GO along Main Street East and Ontario Street South to Derry Road, then west on Derry and around a loop on Savoline Boulevard, Dymott Avenue and Scott Boulevard. Its timed stops are Ontario & Laurier, Derry & Scott and Dymott & Savoline. On weekdays, buses leave Milton GO between 5:22 a.m. and 10:50 p.m., no more than 45 minutes apart; on weekends, every 60 to 75 minutes from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Every Milton Transit route starts and ends at Milton GO Station (780 Main St E), the western end of GO’s Milton line, where customer parking is free.
By car, Derry Road (Regional Road 7) runs along the north edge and Tremaine Road (Regional Road 22) along the west edge. Regional Road 25 meets Highway 401 at Exit 320. Halton Region’s July 2025 update says a new Tremaine Road bridge over Highway 401 is open, as part of a project that includes a future interchange with the highway; Wikipedia’s exit list still shows that interchange as under construction, so check its status before you plan around it. Drive times depend too much on the hour and the street to quote one honestly, so this page doesn’t.
